This page covers only what we manufacture ourselves — Oliie Engineering components. Second-hand parts from the catalogue fall under the ordinary returns policy.
Manufacturing defects carry a lifetime warranty, for the original owner. That means faults in the material or the machining — something that was in the part when it left us, not something it picked up in use.
What it covers
Cracks, deformation and other failures that come from the material or the machining rather than from an impact or from wear.
Faulty threads, seating faces and bolt holes.
Coating that lifts on its own — not coating scratched by a chain or a tool.
What it does not cover
Tooth wear. A chainring is a wear part: the chain eats into the tooth profile over time, and that is the component doing its job, not a defect.
Marks from the chain, from installation and from ordinary use — scuffing on the anodizing.
Crash damage, impacts, or bolts torqued past spec.
Fitting to incompatible cranks or chain: this ring is built for 144 mm BCD, 5-bolt, and 1/8" chain.
Any mechanical modification — drilling, machining, reprofiling.
How to claim
1. Message us on Telegram or by email with your order number, what happened, and roughly how far the ring has run.
2. Add photos — one of the whole ring and one close-up of the area in question.
3. We reply within 3 working days. If the part needs inspecting you send it to us, and we cover return shipping on a confirmed defect.
4. Replace, repair or refund — decided together with you.
We machine these rings ourselves and check every one by hand. If something has gone wrong, we genuinely want to see it.
